Para-aramid is also known as PPTA.  It is a high strength, high module and high performance synthetic fiber.  It is highly abrasion and cut resistant, it is 5 times more stretch resistant than steel (based on weight).  It is an outstanding permanent FR fiber (LOI = 25~29), can easily withstand molten metal splash.

It can be used on its own, it is mainly used in aerospace and national defense industries.   It has more combined applications such as in-car air bags, conveyer belt, protective clothing including workwear, gloves, footwear and bulletproof wear.  It has exceptional performance, however its production is limited thus very expensive.
