Meta-aramid is also known as MPIA (poly-m-phenyleneisophthalamide), it is a permanently fire retardant fiber (LOI = 28~32). It does not require further chemical treatment or special finish to maintain its FR property, and this property will not diminish in wash and dry. This fiber has low thermal property, hard to ignite, does not explode in flame, abrasion/tear and chemical resistant, therefore it is widely used in the fields of chemical suits and electronic heat insulation materials.
The biggest feature of meta-aramid is its comfort, it can also be dyed according to requests. Dope-dyed fibers for common basic colors are available. Its other features include strong acid and corrosive solution resistance. |
